Bad jokes & barbecues

Christmas crackers

For me, there is no greater indicator that the festive season is upon us than family, friends, food and dodgy Christmas cracker jokes. And I can’t think of a more Australian way to celebrate Christmas Day than with a barbecue.

Our day comprised three acts around the three main meals, with pop-in visitors during the intermissions.

It was hectic from 7:30 until after midnight; thank goodness we started the day with a decent breakfast!

We finished the day with more kale salad & hamburgers with Oscar the BBQ. Even though we were all filled to the brim, everyone politely tried a sliver of my white chocolate cheesecake (raw, sugar-free & dairy-free, of course!).

Whatever your faith, I hope your holiday season is treating you with happiness and peace.

Thanks, Deslie – it was a great day with awesome company and fabulous fare!

On an unrelated note, a little birdy told me that you are in the market for rosewater. I found mine at Fresh Provisions, a specialty food store in Perth. You may also find it at shops that store Middle Eastern products. Hope this helps!
